Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance with the legislation governing the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC), research and extension activities in 2021 still took place through the use of digital platforms. Thus, the Apotheke Painting Studio continued to carry out its study, theoretical and practical activities, in Zoom.us rooms. The meetings are held in a closed format and by invitation, for participants who had projects selected in 2020.
In the practical sphere, the production has focused on propositions that include landscape, everyday life and the rhetoric about the image that constructed the pictorial process. We conducted studies based on artists and teachers such as Josef Albers and Johannes Itten. This year, we also held a remote event called Painting Marathon, three days of intense practice and discussions about creative processes.
In this way, we continue studies on the studio as a time and place for production in times of pandemic.
