Contents: cyanotype and printing tests with printer and press (Rosana Paulino technique)
- Study of cyanotype technique.
List of materials:
- image printed on acetate/transparency paper in B&W (preferably with high quality printing); image of old undeveloped photographic films; sheets and objects that can be pressed.
- Watercolor paper (good weight); clothespins or pressure paper; acrylic or glass larger than the size of the paper; **In the tests we did, the use of glass is better than acrylic.
- Clean brushes; cleaning cloths; paper towels, plastic or thin transparent plastic bags; masking tape for marking. Black bag for transporting papers (each person should have their own).
- pots, spoons or pipettes, basin for developing. **Optional, add salt to the water or white vinegar or chemical color fixer to the water.
RECIPE FOR CHEMISTS:
- solution A: 25g of green amminic iron citrate + 100ml of distilled water;
- solution B: 10g of potassium ferricyanide + 100ml of distilled water.
- Mix equal parts (according to the size of the paper), apply to the surface of the paper, insert the image and place it on the glass or acrylic and apply pressure and place it in the sun for 30 minutes (or more, preferably in the morning sun or as intense as possible).
- Afterwards, wash in a basin to remove excess chemical/yellow and keep the blue, remove excess water with paper towel and let dry.
